About SAAM
The Scottish Adult Adoptee Movement (SAAM) is an adoptee-led movement campaigning for the rights of adult adoptees across Scotland and the UK. Founded by adults who were adopted in childhood, SAAM campaigns for adopted people to be recognised as a distinct legal identity with rights of their own — built on the Three Rights Framework of Truth, Identity and Justice. SAAM leads the Adoptee Rights UK campaign, a UK-wide push for the integration of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into adoption law and for adoptee equality to be recognised in UK human rights law.
